Blue Lagoon
Come enjoy this years Blue Lagoon dive event which is one of our more popular dives. Blue Lagoon opens at 10:00 AM and a few of the trip leaders will be showing up then. Just tell the front office, when you check in, that you're looking for the Austin Aquanauts. We'll dive and hang out until we've absorbed all the fun from the place and feel up to the drive home.
We're anticipating cool clear water at Blue Lagoon. They have been known to have 20 to 40 foot of visibility if you can believe that! Though, if they've had rains leading up to the event, the visibility will suffer. Since the location is pretty shallow, the water temperature will vary with how warm the air is.
We will have a grill out and will serve lunch, drinks and snacks. Please let me know if you have any particular dietary restrictions.
Please sign up early so we know how much food to bring.
What to bring:
- Your SCUBA certification card.
- All your scuba gear and tanks. The Blue Lagoon may have some rental gear in a pinch but, it's better that you bring everything that you'll need.
- Camp/lawn chairs. We already have a good number of people signed up so, we'll run out of picnic table space quick. Bring something else to sit on.
- Extra shade if you have it. An extra popup canopy or two would be a good thing to help keep everyone cool.
- Ground tarps to keep your gear clean(er). We'll have a lot of tarp space available but, we could run out.
| Note, the Blue Lagoon caters to Scuba divers and lets them in first. If you arrive early there may be a line of cars waiting along the roadside to get in. These are usually the swimmers that are waiting until 12:00 PM when they are allowed in to snag any remaining sites. If you show up before 10:00 AM you can drive around this line of cars and park right at the office to check in. |
