July 26th Boat Dive & Burgers on Lake Travis
Boat. Bubbles. Burgers.
Join the Austin Aquanauts for our annual boat fun dive and meal on Lake Travis. We will be diving our old friend, Starnes Island, followed by lunch on the boat.
Enjoy this part of the lake that we seldom dive. This site provides us the opportunity to explore and treasure hunt as this is a popular spot for party boats. On three sides of the island, there is a gentle slope, on the fourth, there is a near vertical wall to enjoy.
The Experience
The morning begins with a boat ride out to Starnes Island for a relaxed summer dive. After the dive, lunch will be served on the boat—burgers, hot dogs, vegetarian/vegan options, and sides.
We will be wrapped up and returning to the dock by noon.
Tentative Schedule
8:00 AM – Arrive at the Just For Fun dock
• Please be prepared to get on the boat with all dive gear
8:30 AM – Depart dock
• Approx. 30‑minute ride
• Assemble gear prior to departure...to make certain we have everything!
9:15 AM – Dive at Starnes Island
10:45 AM – All divers back on board
• Lunch is served on the boat
• Slide and pool decks are open for swimming
11:30 AM – Return to dock and offload gear around noon
Capacity & Attendance
- Maximum capacity: 45 people
- Diver limit: 35 divers
- Non‑diving family members are welcome
Limiting the number of divers ensures plenty of room on the boat and a relaxed, enjoyable experience for everyone.
Diving Support & Preparation
- Dive guides will be on board, making this a great option for newer or less‑experienced boat divers.
- A Boat Diving Certification class will be offered on 7/19/26 for anyone looking to build additional confidence before the event.
As always, divers are responsible for planning and executing their own dives, with dive support available if needed.
Food, Drinks & BYOB
- Lunch is included: burgers, hot dogs, vegetarian/vegan options, and sides
- Water and lemonade will be available throughout the morning
Registration Notes
Registration helps offset:
- Boat charter costs
- Safety boat and personnel costs
- Food and event logistics
Spots are limited, and this event is expected to fill quickly.
